University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) men’s basketball standout Brandon Rasmussen has been selected to participate in the 2026 HBCU Live Xperience All-Star game, scheduled for April 18 in San Antonio, Texas. This inaugural event, hosted by the Austin Area Urban League at the Alamo Convocation Center, will showcase elite athletes from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) within the NAIA.
The University of the Virgin Islands men’s track and field team sent five of its six rostered athletes into a 23-team field on April 3 & 4  at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida, using the meet as another step in its outdoor buildup against a group that included several NCAA Division I programs. The Buccaneers did not contend for a team win in the meet, but the day produced a series of notable individual efforts, including multiple collegiate debuts and improved sprint times.
The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) women’s track and field team turned in a pair of notable individual improvements Friday at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic, led by freshman Pilar Swinson and sophomore Londyn Hall against a large field that included more than 20 NCAA Division I, II and III programs, along with NAIA schools.
