Coastal Georgia Holds On Against Buccaneers
BRUNSWICK, Ga. The University of the Virgin Islands Women's Basketball Team could not complete the rally and the College of Coastal Georgia held on for a 69-64 win over the visiting Buccaneers Sunday afternoon.
With 4:28 left to play, an Amber Appiah-Kubi basket had cut the deficit to 63-59 but the Mariners made enough shots and played enough defense down the stretch to claim the victory.
Appiah-Kubi and Kaeani Berry led the Buccaneers with 13 points each. Kashay Bass was the only other UVI player that scored in double-digits with 11.
